DRESDEN

Before 1945, Dresden was considered one of the most beautiful cities in Germany, home to many baroque masterpieces, royal residence for the Electors and Kings of Saxony, positioned on the valley on the River Elbe. Destroyed during World War II and rebuilt city has many historical landmarksthat are unique and exemplary in their genre.

  • The Frauenkirche is considered as the symbol of protestant church. It was destroyed in World War II and reconstructed in a heroic way one piece at a time (works completed in 2005)
  • The Royal Palace, a good representative of Renaissance Dresden.
  • The Zwinger or the Zwinger Palace, one of the best examples of baroque architecture, a complex that has many housing facilities as well as art galleries
  • And along the way admire the 102m-long Fürstenzug mural depicted on the façade of the former Stallhof (royal stables)
  • World’s most beautiful Dairy, Pfund Milk Shop entirely decorated with handpainted Villeroy & Boch tiles

Strolling on the Prager Strasse, crown of architecture in Dresden, there will be examples of traditional buildings as well as post-modern architecture.

LEIPZIG

Leipzig reserves more German architecture treasures. The city has a prestigious architectural patrimony both in classical and modern styles that has survived over the years. Its uniqueness is a rich collection of Wilhelminian-style architecture.
